Power Dog was started by Liz Powers, MPT, CCRT.  Liz has been a Licensed Physical Therapist since 1999, receiving her Masters in Physical Therapy from American International College.  She has had an interest in working with dogs since 2000, at which time she took classes in Canine Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation through the American Physical Therapy Association, and at the University of Tennessee.  In 2009, she became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (Wellington, FL), and opened a Canine Rehabilitation facility in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Liz has training in Orthopedics, Manual Therapy, Aquatic Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Wound Healing, Geriatrics, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Low Level Laser Therapy, and other modalities typically used by Physical Therapists to treat neuromusculoskeletal injuries in dogs.

Getting in shape!

Most dogs, amazingly, enjoy physical therapy!

Even dogs who don't usually like water often enjoy the underwater treadmill!

Dogs love to work and play.

Many conditions can improve with the proper exercises and treatment.

A Power Dog session usually lasts for 1/2 hour.  The first session is an evaluation and lasts for 1 hour.
