About

Liz Powers is a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT), and the owner of Power Dog Canine Physical Therapy.  She studied Canine Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation through the American Physical Therapy Association, the University of Tennessee, and the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, and is certified by CRI (Wellington, FL).

Liz also has a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from American International College and is a Licensed Physical Therapist for people. She has been a full-time canine physical therapist since October of 2008, and has helped hundreds of dogs heal and improve the quality of their lives.

Treatments Power Dog offers include Orthopedics, Manual Therapy, Aquatic Therapy (underwater treadmill), Craniosacral Therapy, Wound Healing, Geriatrics, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Low-Level Laser Therapy, and other modalities typically used by Physical Therapists to treat neuromusculoskeletal injuries in dogs.

We are conveniently located in Northampton, MA, serving pets throughout western MA, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.

Power Dog was started by Liz Powers, MPT, CCRT.  Liz has been a Licensed Physical Therapist since 1999, receiving her Masters in Physical Therapy from American International College.  She has had an interest in working with dogs since 2000, at which time she took classes in Canine Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation through the American Physical Therapy Association, and at the University of Tennessee.  In 2009, she became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute (Wellington, FL), and opened a Canine Rehabilitation facility in Northampton, Massachusetts.
